Hey!
In your corner of the world…is it getting really wacky?
Are people you knew as fairly static personalities jumping on the crazy train?
Do you wonder what season of the Twilight Zone we are walk-on actors in right now?
For me, the only predictable factor of human life is the wildly changing landscape on the Earth plane. Including us wonky humans - super unpredictable.
Behavior describes the manner in which one acts or reacts in relation to the world - in response to external or internal stimuli for example.
I think most interpret “behavior” as how people show up. What are they doing? Expressing?
Behavior seems to be seen as malleable, under varying degrees of control depending on maturity, wisdom, mastery of the human condition.
I think we tend in the West to distinguish behavior from inherent human self-worth, which is a little problematic to me because it seems like more of a spectrum, since behavior is considered an extension of a person’s character, which arises from their basic dignity and sense of self.
Of course, I would guess there are psychologists, sociologists, linguists and lots of other -ists who would describe in detail these terms, labels, boxes. Maybe in a glossy power point presentation with flow charts.
I’m doing the more me thing of wondering about the human “condition” - so much depth in just that phrase - and examining our concepts and language to communicate those memes.
